The WBC's March 2, 2017 ruling (the "Ruling"): (1) suspended Mr. Alexander Povetkin from participating in any WBC-sanctioned bouts indefinitely; (2) imposed a $250,000 USD fine; and (3) designed a testing protocol for Mr. Povetkin to commence as soon as feasible after the Ruling, which would continue for one year thereafter.

He lost a shot at a genuine world title, has served a suspension he did not contest look at the likes of Ortiz and Fury, both contesting bans Fury to the point he hasn't even served one yet for nandrolone having his lawyers delay proceedings and using the mental health card to avoid being sued for breach of contract by Klitschko.

The guy should be allowed to resume his career, personally I think it should have been a lengthier ban and it should have been wider reaching not just covering the WBC. I'll never understand this sport.

They are still working with the WBC, or at least to my knowledge they are.

As I said, he's served his suspension. It's up to the regulating bodies to get together, make these bans actually sufficient to detract these bastards from doing it, with a two year ban they'd think twice. As it stands Ortiz will be back in 6 month if they punish him the same as Povetkin, the WBA have banned Ortiz for a year I like that but I feel a ban should be really heavy as it'd deter these fücks and really make them think twice.

Where is the consistency, look at Stiverne, tested positive but slapped on the wrist and allowed to compete in a final eliminator, then when another guy tests dirty he's given a by straight into an immediate shot.
