            nice try using your brain.
The point is Chavez Jr chose freedom and good paydays over being held hostage by Bob Arum.

Whether he made the $12 million in Arum's handcuff is irrelevant; JCCJr Promotions got gate/Showtime/Televisa money on the Fonfara and Reyes fights (with the Reyes fight seeing Chavez Jr also be a co-promoter on the CBS card in the same building). Chavez Jr likely made at least the $7m on those two fights, before then having his showcase in Mexico, all on his terms.

To cap it off, he still ended up getting the Alvarez fight, with Haymon working on Chavez Jr's behalf to lock in a 5/3 on the guarantee (could guess that the final split was near 65/35).

After some time off, Chavez Jr is ready to get back to work, and he'll likely end up as the co-feature to Mikey Garcia in January, before moving on to his own big fight next.

Not being dictated to, seemingly for Chavez Jr anyway, was worth the risk.

And, if Arum wants the fight for "Zurdo" Ramirez, he can call Chavez Jr and talk to him and his camp, boss to boss
