Dmitry Bivol had higher U.S. TV ratings than Anthony Joshua

And you guys still think Joshua is the A-side?

Dmitry Bivol, an absolute unknown in the U.S., averaged 341K viewers last Saturday in a fight few Americans even knew about.
Dmitry Bivol’s debut on premium cable drew respectable ratings considering his level of opposition and the time it aired live in the United States. Bivol’s first-round knockout victory over Trent Broadhurst on Saturday peaked at 356,000 viewers and drew an average audience of 341,000 for HBO, according to ratings released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research. The one-bout broadcast from Monte Carlo, Monaco, began at 5:45 p.m. ET/2:45 p.m. PT in the United States.

Anthony Joshua, a supposed superstar, averaged 334K viewers in a highly promoted fight two Saturdays ago.
Anthony Joshua’s level of opponent impacted U.S. television ratings Saturday much more than attendance. Roughly 78,000 fans packed Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, to watch England’s Joshua stop Carlos Takam in the 10th round of their heavyweight title fight. Showtime’s live broadcast of Joshua-Takam drew an average audience of 334,000 viewers, according to ratings released by Nielsen Media Research on Tuesday.

Absolutely embarrassing for Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn.

Anthony Joshua, heavyweight from the UK? I'm confused, you know he fights in the UK and has pretty spectacular numbers right?

You're right. Wilder gets to call the shots.

More people turned up to the arena for Joshua's last fight than Wilder's entire 39 fights combined let that sink in and then factor in U.K numbers and the fact Joshua has two belts and one good win and that Wilder has one belt and 0 wins.

And nationalistic pride helps drive the revenue for the event. They drive the numbers and should absolutely factor into how the pie is divided.

Without Joshua's fan base Wilder would get $1-2m max for this fight.

Guy that has more belts, more fans, more credible wins gets more than the guy with less (next to none) fans, less belts and no credible wins.
