  • Comments Thread For: Arias: All the Pressure on Jacobs; Everyone Expects Me to Lose

Luis Arias is completely comfortable with his low-profile role entering his fight against Daniel Jacobs. Arias recognizes that as the "A" side of this promotion and the known middleweight with a new HBO contract, the burden is more on Jacobs than him to win when they meet Saturday night in Uniondale, New York.

Lmao do anyone care about this fight? This is 5 steps back for Jacobs. What was Hearn thinking? Cheap opponent more money for Jacobs? This is Rod Salka Danny Garcia all over again

You guys do not know boxing thats why. Not saying Cuba will win but he is not Rod Salka and Danny is the most overrated fighter not named Wilder.

Danny was gassed up for surviving vs GGG and now he running around saying " After what I did to GGG....etc"

WTF did you do???? GGG dropped you, hurt you, outworked you, out landed you, took control of the pocket, applied the pressure and left you lumped up like if you stuck your head in a bee's nest with your ears flapping. GTFOH

This man fought to survive and he did that for 12 rds.

Now they took a hungry good fighter and by the 3rd round Danny and his fanboys will realize Arias is not a tune up. far from a tune up.

Even though I agree about Jacobs being overrated imo he did enough to at least draw ggg.

Yes this fight is far from a tune-up,as I do rate Arias, but Jacobs took this fight for 1 reason: because Arias is a relatively weak puncher who likely won't drop Jacobs for the 4th time in his career. Although if Mora was able to almost put him to sleep Arias definitely can too if he catches him flush on the chin.

I had GGG 7-5 an dont forget Danny weighted damn near 180 or aboe for that fight. He fought to survive and IMO is not even a top 3 MW.

I rate GGG, Canelo, Charlo over him and not ever sure he beats Derevyanchenko or winner of BJS vs Lemiuex

Who is he going to fight. The top guys Lemieux Saunders Canelo and Golovkin are committed. Possibly Charlo but I think there are protional issues. Not sure about that.

Not seen much of the opponent, so can't say much. Looking forward to the Miller/Wach fight though!

Agreed. Boxrec has him at 17 in MW, above Korobov and Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam. Both are legit MWs (contender/gatekeepers, maybe, but legit). Salka was from two weight classes below and ranked 50-100 by Boxrec, IIRC.
