Apparently somebody did. They had a crowd of 10k people with UFC right up the street at MSG.

That's a healthy to good boxing audience in a US arena. The live gate was probably between 750k - 1.2 million

I'd imagine the majority of those tickets were sold when they thought it was against Ortiz. Plus it was a good all round card. I'm pretty sure he Barclays can hold a lot more than 10k though.

But I can say for certain no one really wanted to see that fight. That's not even a slight on deontay it would just be like aj rematching Charles Martin. It may sell out but no one truly wants to see that.

Maybe leverage/negotiating tactics for Parker's team to get the AJ %cut up. Parker would be ****** to take a dangerous Browne fight over unification's. Good match up but would rather see Wilder or AJ or Povetkin vs Parker. Browne has been too inactive like Stiverne was.

We need Parker, Wilder, and Joshua all in the same ring over the next 12 months, w/ Fury hopefully in the mix the next 12. I don't understand how anybody could logically want anything else.

All those other HWs are shot or below average with size.

I accept boxing is financially motivated, if Wilder or Parker are unprepared to accept what Hearn is offering and they'd earn less elsewhere then I lay the blame squarely at their feet, as it is Wilder hasnt many options. Parker on the other hand has many, he's got NZ ppv money for every fight, his next mooted fight if Hearn won't move on an 80/20 split will be a combined ppv show with Australian ppv too, it's a proven market also, Browne vs Parker in an Oceanic fight will be do big numbers.

Honestly what is it that Wilder offers either AJ or Parker the other one does not ? That's the fight to make and Wilder should have to wait, his numbers aren't comparable, if Hearn doesn't make him an offer why not take the Whyte fight as you said the guy is absolute whack, then theirs a potential Breazeale fight all the while the AJ fight is still there.

Do I want to see these guys face each other ? Of course I do, I understand why they're not coming together immediately. I'm expecting Whyte vs AJ next though, I don't believe Hearn is making serious offers to these other cats, fortunately Parker has other options and will likey make huge bank from Ryabinsky for the Povetkin fight not a fight I'm particularly excited to see and the thought of Povetkin acquiring the WBO belts dampens my appetite but then again the WBO I don't consider anywhere near as important as the other three, but Parker has as much claim to be a champion as the other two more than Wilder IMO, he's beat two top ten ranked opponents Wilder only has one three years ago, it could be argued Joshua has 3 but it's evident he's the man in the division right now and I'd much prefer these cats be facing each other.

True, for a boxing audience the capacity is around 16k ( i believe Thurman v. Garcia has the record live gate somewhere around 15k). But that's probably right that most were bought when Ortiz was on the card. Interesting though, that might suggest that the orginal card had to potential to challenge the record. Maybe we are underestimating the potential for a headlining heavyweight clash?

Parker is doing quite well at home regardless, he really didnt even need to leave NZ but if he wants to earn cash in the stratosphere he's got to take the path he's taking hence travelling the UK having the Furrie's pay him £1.4m in escrow before hand too, wise move might I add. The next UK fight should earn him 5 times that and more.

Well I was very excited for the original fight but I'm not sure if it would trouble the record as I know dsg is a big draw in New York and Thurman has had a couple of great fights there so I think their name value would carry more weight than wilder vs Ortiz but I guess we will never know. People do love a heavyweight fight though

Browne fought well against Chagaev and he does have some heavy hands i also agree he is a bit crude. But when you actually compare performances and best wins there really isn't any reason why fighting Whyte would give Parker much more credibility.
