I remember reading a report at *********.com quoting Darcinyan right after facing Diosdado Gabi as very much aware of his lack of defense. He said, his trainer, Hall of Famer Jeff Fenech, repeatedly told him that he should be a lot more defense conscious, adding that Fenech has been putting emphasis on defense in the gym. He quickly added that he, however, forgets and leaves defense on the lowest rung of the stairs each time he climbs up the ring.

As for Pacquiao, I believe, his head movement and shiftiness, which amounted to being the sum total of his inventory of defensive skills in the first few years of his career, vastly improved following his KO loss to Torrecampo.

I think the best way for Darchinyan to take defense seriously is through a call that comes close to one that Pac got from Torrecampo. A KD (not necessarily a KO) may do the trick.

The second and last stoppage Pac suffered (Singsurat) by the way was not for lack of defensive skills. It was simply dehydration. If memory serves, Pac was still struggling to make weight just hours before the fight-- right on fight day. He didn't have enough time to slowly rehydrate.

I agree that a knock down would make VIC much more cautious about his defense and about improving it, but im telling you, the guy just has an incredible chin.

Vic has never been dropped as an amateaur and certainly hasn't been dropped in his 26 Wins as a pro.
It would really take alot for someone to drop him to teach him the lesson you speak of and I dont think there is any flyweight in the world right now that can do that.

lol, thats why you had to insult the fact that im a Castillo fan cause you cant hit me back with anything to defend VIC. Vic's last fight was awful, all he tryed to do was land that straight right all night like all his fights,lol. When you have the kind of power VIC has, skill comes 2nd. Arce will out skill him up to Round 6 or 7, but what will he do when that well-measured left BOMB lands in the 8th?? He will go down to his knees just like Gabi and Maldonado, thats what he will do.

we all know he has a weaker punch than Vic, and there is no one with a better chin than Vic in the division, so knocking Vic out would take somethin special.

Im confident, because VIC is confident in himself, most of boxing is mental, and being in Vic's corner and locker room before the last fight, I could tell that he knew he was gonna win the fight before he even stepped in the ring. The man is very confident right now and thats why he is calling everyone out and not holding back. Lets see one of the other guys in the division do this.

Lets not talk about other boxers KOing Vic because its all BS. Vic Darchinyan has proved over and over again that his raw power is good enough to KO anyone that walks into the ring with him. Each and every time we have a hater talking **** about his skills and power. Either back your **** up with solid evidence or dont talk at all. Vic has been fighting decent opposition and has been trying to get the best opponents in the ring. The problem is nobody wants to fight him. He wanted Arce, Parra, or Narvaez to fight with him but UNFORTUNATELY they do not have the balls to do so. So until they do Vic will be the LORD OF THE FLYS. Like I said so far he has shown the world that his raw KO power is good enough to take care of business. Like every boxer he has some flaws, but unfortunately it is one thing to talk about them in this forum and another to take advantage of them in the ring. Therefore until someone those have the balls to walk into the ring and do so please STFU. Arce this Arce that. Arce is a ****ing ***** for not responding to VIC. He is a great fighter we cannot doubt that but he is a "chicken" like Vic said for picking and choosing his opponents to his advantage. Who has Arce beaten that would be difficult for Vic to do so? Arce isn't afraid of Vic for ****, no matter what you say. First of all who has tested Vics chin? maldonado, who's been fighting bums all his life or Gabi who is as featherfisted as they come? of course vic has a chance of knocking arce out but you should also realize that Arce is a skilled boxer who can box AND punch.

If Arce isn't screaming out to fight vic it could be because he calls the shots, he's paid his dues and makes exciting fights which will make him money (maybe martin castillo who is a proven champion and not someone who's abilities will be questioned if arce knocks him out).

vic has beat up on B level fighters and would definitley be taking a step up if he fought arce, he wouldn't be in there with the great luis maldonado, though he may be capable fo taking this step it's not as sure a thing as u make it out to be.

He's confident?, doesn't every fighter step into the ring confident? Vic is just another Hamed, and I don't even see Vic's style being any better then Hamed's, and to enadeus who gave me bad K and saying Vic has a style called "power style", wow, who cares, its still lame. That so called "power style" is not gana take him very far once he steps in the ring with a real fighter.
