The Guys Who Come to Fight Should be the Highest Paid

You have guys who build up their names from unbeaten records over so-so opposition and then get fan bases behind them. That's all well and good but often this produces just more opponents we know they are going to beat.

What about guys like Provodnikov and others who fight everybody win/lose/draw and fight their asses off to entertain us?

I think these guys should make more money because they give us more.

All this A-side, B-side crap needs to go. Who puts asses in the seats? The warriors and high action fighters!

If they put asses in seats wouldn't they be the highest paid? People want to watch winners, the best, they may complain that they are boring but they'd still choose to watch a boring winner over a toe to toe journeyman.

Not really. A boring winner has enough hype and media behind him to entice people to buy an event, but it's usually followed by instant regret.

People would rather watch toe to toe action, but fights such as Ward vs Gatti 1 were relatively minor events with little publicity when first aired and are only recognised as great fights as the action unfolds, hence the public interest in Gatti vs Ward 2.

We cannot have it both ways, the guys that comes to fight probably don't have the fanbase to go along with it. The "Boring" ones sometimes are the ones that actually put bums on seat. At the end of the equation money is generated by how many bums can be placed on seats.

                not really.

how come rigo aint doing too well?

if you're a boring fighter then you need another act to get the people interested. for example, floyd, he's a boring fighter but to make people interested, he plays the villain role and now he got people interested to pay and see if he'll lose.

Is any fighter in Rigo's division or below doing well? Is any Journeyman doing well?

Respectfully, the guys that sell the most seats and draw the largest TV crowds, whether on cable or PPV, should IMO be the highest paid.

That is not always the "action" fighter.
