Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Discusses DeGale, Selby Doubleheader

I WAS DELIGHTED to formally present James DeGale and Lee Selby to the media, in London this week with the prestigious pair both topping our fight roster for December 9 at the Copper Box in Stratford. For me, it is simply a continuation of what we are successfully striving to deliver the best fights and fighters for the boxing public.

Still TBA. Don't expect a tough test for De-Gale after his injury and inactivity though.

Yeah, wasn't expecting too much from eithers opponents tbh. But the longer it takes the further they scoure down the rankings, and theyre some Boxrec search classics down the bottom of boths rankings.

I think it's purely a case of getting both fighters on BT sport and get them back in peoples minds. De Gale hasn't fought in the U.K in a while, and Selby didn't get any fights that got people talking.

This is just building the Selby/Warrington fight next year at Leeds football ground, which should be a big event, and obviously De Gale will be looing for the winner of the WBSS which could be one of the 3 Brits, so a huge event again.

I get BT with my Broadband for £7p/m so I'll watch it for sure, not taking it as anything other than a tune-up for the 2 IBF champions and a chance to see Yarde and Dubois in action.

          Looing forward to it.

You think so? Warren has by far the 3/4 best shows to close out the year. Smith/Williams 2 this weekend, great fight. Then he has Carl Frampton and the card in Belfast with Paddy Barnes and Jamie Conlan on November 18th, then De Gale/Selby Dec 9th and Saunder/Lemioux on the 16th.

Competition is good, and Frank and BT have just started, will only get better.

It's a good card even if they fight a lower ranked opponent from the top 15 of the rankings. Yarde gets his first real test and Dubois is just exciting to watch.

We also have Smith/Williams this weekend, the Frampton card on the 18th, De Gale/Selby on the 9th of next month and Saunders/Lemioux on the 16th.

Frank and BT are delivering and signing up real talent, no doubt about that, it's going to be a big year next year for British boxing with this competition....can only be good for the sport.
