Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury: I Don't Like Wilder, He Don't Like Me - Let's Fight!

Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) plans to return to training over Christmas and lose seven stone ahead of a heavyweight title fight with Anthony Joshua in 2018. Fury has not fought since shocking Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015 to claim the IBF, WBO and WBA (Super) and IBO titles but is set to return to the ring next year.

100 lbs is a lot of weight to lose and it will take a long time...he's been out of the ring for 2 years already, why wasn't he done it yet?

Plus training to lose weight and training to fight are two totally different things. So really he has to lose the flab THEN work on getting sharp and regaining his timing.

Fury ruined himself. He should be in the thick of things making money at the top of the heavyweight division but instead he went off the rails. I doubt he will ever again get back to the form he showed against Klitschko.

Fury is the wildcard in the division. And he has as legitimate a claim as anyone to being the real heavyweight champion of the world. The longer he’s outta the ring, the weaker his claim gets. Right now, the biggest fight that can be made in the division is AJ-Wilder. But either fighting Fury would be more than an acceptable alternative. Although I’d rather see AJ and Wilder go right for each other. And let Fury get a couple tuneups. Take an easy comeback fight. Then maybe go after Parker’s belt. That would setup him against the AJ-Wilder winner.

If Beontay is smart and brave he would take this fight in a heartbeat. Even make it a leverage fight in the AJ negotiations. Hearn would get confused as hell.
An opportunity Beontay should never pass up.
