Comments Thread For: Fenech: Horn Beats Pacquiao Again, Crawford Much More Difficult

Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech believes WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn (17-0-1, 11 KOs) would do another job on eight division beltholder Manny Pacquiao - if they ever met again in a rematch. Back in July, Horn pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Pacquiao to capture the WBO belt before a crowd of over 50,000 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

Slowly, it seems Horn is being accepted and repackaged as legitimately beating Pac in their first fight when most fans agree it was a hometown gift decision.
Horn certainly showed he is tough, awkward, rough and willing to brawl, so he will no doubt prove a handful for any welterweight apart from the current top-ranked WW's like Thurman, Spence, Garcia and others.
Those guys would simply give Horn a sharp boxing lesson with superior movement and ring generalship.
If Horn does get past Corcoran then I suspect, as usual, that Horn's lack of experience, if he does manage to land a big name, will back-fire like it usually does with Australian fighters.
There's a long list with a few exceptions. Geale, Katsidis, Darchiniyan, Tzsyu, Mundine and perhaps Green were able to prove the exception.
I just don't see Horn with a disputed win over a nearly done Manny Pacquiao as a future world-class fighter.
The only way he can silence his critics is to comprehensively beat one of the other three belt holders.
Until then this is just trying to force the tired old story of rags to riches.
And if Horn wants to be taken seriously he needs to adjust his outrageous and expired demands to fight Mayweather - every fighter ceased doing that after his fight with Berto.
How silly and deluded can he be? Does he really think Floyd would even bother giving him a passing thought?
Get your shyte together Jeff, chip away, know your limitations and strive towards a unification fight.

I actually agree with Fenech. I don't see the outcome being any different. Horn is just too big and awkward for Manny to look good against. He's not the kind of fighter that's going to consistently back up from his opponent. Horn was such a train wreck, he just needed to keep backing up, let him stumble all over himself, and counter him all night. He had a chance to put him in away in the 9th but he either couldn't or chose not to. I don't think Horn did enough to win the first time but the fight was so ugly you could hardly give Pacquiao credit for anything he was doing. It won't change in a second fight.

why cant you give him credit for landing far more punches? why does the guy who constantly barrels forward missing punches and running into punches get credit? low expectations strikes again. he didnt get ko'd so he wins. he made it ugly so he wins. anyone can make a fight ugly if they have the right ref. let ward tell you that. doenst mean you win though. if they have a rematch and horn ko's manny with low blows it would be perfect. everyone would think hes a fraud while not realizing that ward did the same thing. stay at home wtih corrupt refs/judges and cheat to win. its different when its in australia guys!

hes andre horn. if he was american he would have a bunch of people pretendign he's the greatest and he would be ranked #1. ward robbed kovalev an they put him at #1. horn robbed pac and they put him at #8 only? such bias. horn needs to have a super six that only takes place in australia and where he headbutts and clinches guys like thurman and spence nonstop. what a great fighter! skill!
