thats obv their plan. get breazele an easy oponent in order to get him te fight. if wilder just fought breazele as a voluntary people would look co-ckeyed but since its a mandatory he can use that excuseComment

Didn't even think of it like that. These HWs keep fighting the who's who of the division and keep avoiding each other. Parker vs Hughie was the most relevant fight for the division since AJ vs Wlad & that was very poor.Comment

Both situations were caused by drug test failures.
Povetkin and Stiverne were supposed to fight in a final eliminator. Povetkin cheated, so Stiverne became mandatory be default.
Stiverne was convinced to fight a final eliminator against Breazeale to allow Wilder to fight King Kong. King Kong cheated, so Breazeale was allowed to face the highest ranked available contender instead, which happened to be Molina since it was short notice.
Neither situation was ideal, but like Dibella talked about today at the final presser, the WBC should be applauded for catching so many cheaters instead of being criticized when it results in lesser fights. Lesser fights are a short term consequence of catching cheaters.
But the more cheaters you catch, the less people will cheat, and in the long run you'll get better fights.Comment

Dumbass situations created by the belt organizations atm
WBC- Stiverne a mandatory, Luis Nery situation, Breazale- molina title eliminator
WBA- Rigo has to win against lomachenko at 130 2 divisions higher to keep his belt at 122
WBO- Corrupt Top Rank and Frank Warren Matchups for the titles
IBF- They have some awful rankings but nothing going on at the momentComment

There's nothing behind the scenes involved. All of this is very easily explainable. The problem is that you don't know how boxing ranking organizations operate. They rank the best fighters interested in fighting for them.all rankings are debatable but some things are just wrong. stirverne 1 fight in 3 years and he got tuned up vs a bum makes him mandatory....thats behind the scenes politics in action. molina got torched vs joshua then had one fight vs a 15-35 fighter and only got a MD. now hes in an elininator....thats behind the scenes politics in action.
Stiverne was the champion. Then he lost to his mandatory by decision, so he dropped to #5 in the rankings. Those in front of him lost or chose to fight for other organizations, which is why he moved up the rankings. He was the leading available contender willing to face Povetkin in a final eliminator when Wilder was injured.
So when Povetkin cheated, it was treated as Stiverne winning and he became the mandatory.
Molina is the #12 heavyweight interested in fighting for the WBC. He is the highest ranked contender that agreed to fill in on short notice when Breazeale's eliminator was ruined by King Kong's drug failure.
Before you cry about "behind the scenes politics," you should learn how this sport works. There is nothing unusual about Molina being the 12th best heavyweight interested in fighting for the WBC right now.Comment

why was stirverne vs povetkin an eliminator in the first place??? ridiculousBoth situations were caused by drug test failures.
