Who am I to question his account, sounds logical. However there were plenty other fighters of a greater caliber than Ali. That decision to fight Ali was self imposed.

Freddie doesnt make the fights. He's about making sure he gets paid and his fighters dont lose. he's been a joke coach for several years now, usually his fighters lose the big fights.

Golden boy wouldn't allow any big name /pbc fighter to fight cotto without agreeing to an extension with golden boy so instead of doing what was right for cotto and fans, we're now stuck with cotto vs Ali when it could've been cotto vs either Mikey or Danny garcia, Spence, or Thurman among others who all acknowledged they received offers.

Cotto clearly said that if he would of have more time he would of challenge a better opponent but he want to retire this year. Make sense be only got 1 more month to go.
