The 2 things I took away from this:

1). "Mr. Nery did not request analysis of the corresponding 'B' sample."
Why? Did he know he would not pass?

So this was solely a WBC investigation into Nery with no participation by WADA or VADA or any anti-doping agency?

I think I agree that something smells here. It isn't fair to Nery if he is truly innocent, it's not fair to Yamanaka if Nery cheated, it's not fair to Villanueva who is going to fight him on Saturday, and not fair to us fans who waited over 2 months to find out that due diligence probably wasn't taken in investigating this matter.

By the way, is Nery still champion? Also, since Saturday's fight is a non-title bout is Luis being tested for that fight? Probably not.

If domestic beef is known to be contaminated with these compounds, then it's the boxer's responsibility to procure a cleaner source or substitute beef in his diet with another protein.

VADA did its job. Then WBC effectively craps on any semblance of transparency by using this tainted beef excuse.

It is the responsibility of the fighter to eat clean foods the minute they agree to sign the VADA contract.

These fighters don't make much money. They make ends meet, but are far from hiring nutritionists that can help them with their meals. As far as buying organic meat, I'm not so sure they can afford that, either. What is interesting, though, is that a fighter would choose to eat beef, when beef takes so long to digest. And as we all know, that would be very counterproductive to making weight. It seems to me like it would be much better for a fighter to eat lighter meats like chicken, turkey, and fish.

Pitiful excuse, Mexico is not a third world country they are a developing country, as you noted, they can eat fish or other sources of protein.

The clembuterol and zalpiterol on the meat is a big problem in Mexico.

Lastly your excuse about Nery being to poor to afford organic meat is not acceptable because in order for you to participate in the WBC VADA program you have to be rated as high as #15. by the WBC so NO : a fighter ranked as high as Nery to gain a title shot at the #1. fighter in the world is making a proper living -- in other words he was making enough money to eat well and was fighting on Mexican TV before facing Yamanaka. Bandido Vargas was also making decent purses by the time he fought Salido when he got caught. No excuses, Luis Nery is a CHEAT PERIOD.
