  • Did Conor McGregor Beat Floyd 39-37 Since He Was Required To Debut With a 4 Rounder?

It is common knowledge that because Floyd brought a lot of money to Las Vegas, and refused to fight anywhere except Las Vegas, that all rules from drug testing to ranking to basic safety rules are all bent or broken to accommodate Floyd and his easily separated dollars.

We all saw McGregor completely school Floyd for 3 of the first 4 rounds. Had this been any other circumstance this would have been a 4 round fight since it was McGregors debut and he never had an amateur fight. Acceptions are ONLY made in this rule when a fighter has extensive and highly successful amateur careers.

For example Olympic GOLD medalists like Oscar De La Hoya are allowed to start with 6 rounders as opposed to say an Olympic Bronze Medalist choke artist like Floyd Mayweather Jr who was so disappointing in the Olympics that for his own safety he was required to fight his first 2 professional fights as 4 rounders before proving himself in order to graduate to 6 rounders safely.

So back to the point...McGregor was only supposed to be able to fight 4 rounds. Anything after that is really an exhibition.

    Bottom Line:

Conor McGregor UD4 Floyd Mayweather Jr
    39-37
