  • Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua-Carlos Takam: Post-Fight Report Card

Anthony Joshua was in no danger of losing the fight. He was in danger of losing his perfect career streak of knockouts. Maybe he finishes Carlos Takam before he hears the bell to the end the twelfth. Maybe not. Still competing, the Frenchman by way of Cameroon appeared far from finished when referee Phil Edwards saved him from the sort of flurry of offense he'd ridden through for most of the night.

When the ref stepped in nothing was really landing. It was a mixture of clean misses and skiffs off the top of Takam's head. Dude was rolling with the punches and probably would've fired back with something immediately afterwards and with Joshua looking spent after he finished his attacks, Takam might have wobbled him or even more. Such a poor stoppage.

      October 29, 2017:

"Joshua had been the talk of the boxing world all week leading up to the fight. And if you had never seen him fight before, you'd come away thinking he wasn't so special and only did what he was expected to do, and that's overwhelm the smaller and less-skilled fighter. In a surprise to many observers, Joshua weighing a career high 254, looked lethargic...

Joshua, if he ever became the undisputed heavyweight champion, would dwarf the next biggest star in either boxing or MMA. However, for that to happen, Joshua needs to incorporate a little WWE in his step and show up at Wilder-Stiverne this weekend to challenge Deontay in the ring after the fight if Deontay wins as expected."

People really have to stop watching fights with beer goggles on ,fight was as one sided as you can get and with a battered bloodied Takam ,yet were still DEGRADING Joshua who had to switch things up 2 weeks notice ? Yea that makes perfect sense .

I cant wait until he actually goes 12 than instead of you saying he has no stamina ,it'll be he has no power . lol

Imagine if social media was around when Lennox Lewis went the distance with journey man Levi Billups in his 19th fight who was about 6 '0 and 210 pounds with a monster k.o percentage of 50% ? You guys would be screaming for him to retire the way you cry about things ......

You make a good point about him lacking power. He doesnt seem to be able to knock anyone out cleanly.
