Comments Thread For: Hearn Shakes Head at Joshua Guarantee For Wilder Facing Whyte

A few days ago, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs) made it loud and clear that he was willing to fight Dillian Whyte - if promoter Eddie Hearn can guarantee, in a binding contract, that IBF, IBO, WBA world champion Anthony Joshua would be the very next opponent. Joshua returned on Saturday night, when he retained his belts with a tenth round stoppage over late replacement Carlos Takam at Principality in Cardiff.

Hearn doesn't want this fight he'd rather have Joshua fight Parker, Haye/Bellow winner, and Whyte2 in 2018

A Whyte preliminary won't make Joshua-Wilder a bigger event than it already is. Hearn is full of it.

What's crazy and gets spin so much is how Wilder's resume is all shyt, bad technique, windmills etc....... Yet.........No fight! Seems as if by some boxing so called fans AJ out classes Wilder which he may but they're both (Hearn, AJ) not over confident in him winning. For all wilders flaws and he has plenty...but he has that right hand, he's long and kinda unorthodox. Suggesting he fight Whyte before AJ is ludicrous. Dam shame if he'd fought in beat whyte last year, fans would be saying he beat AJ left overs etc.....lol. Fight sells Wembley out in seconds. WBC champ wanna unify and Some Fans want whyte lol. Let there not so favorite fighter do this and id bet most change their tune.

Way to get an article out of 6 words!

'No, it doesn't work this way'.

              Could mean a 100 and 1 things.

Hearns could've meant that he is happy to make the fight next, but can't put it in the contract because then things become way too complicated. For example, they would have to agree on a revenue split/location/etc. They would spend months negotiating a hypothetical Joshua-Wilder fight that might not even materialize as Wilder could lose to Whyte. Things need to be done in order.

Tired of boxers behaving like divas. Joshua Wilder fight brings more money in the UK. Makes sense to build it up there. If Wilder can't KO Whyte then he has no hope with Joshua. So why all the bickering? Just put on gloves and fight someone of note already.

Ill bet Wilder is more known in the UK than here in the states.

Wilder can forget about an Anthony Joshua fight.

Hearns wont yield such control over to Deontay 'Bronze-Bomber' Wilder : Deontay is very shrewd in calling Hearns bluff, in this approach team Matchroom would commence the cash-out process with a deadline ; no more promise of seeing A.J's reign extending too 2020.
