Mandatory etc etc
Originally posted by THEFRESHBRAWLER View PostSmart tactical move by Hearn. He knew he would have to fight a mandatory if Pulev pulled out. So Joshua vs Mandatory will be AJ last fight on the Showtime contract. Look for Joshua vs Ustinov or Miller in mid 2018 on HBO
"I'm just focusing on keeping my belts, who ever that is on the WBA list that's who it is," Joshua told reporters.
1. Luis Ortiz
2. Alex Ustinov
3. Fres Oquando
4. Manuel Charr
5. Alexander PedVetkin
6. Christan Hammer
7. Jarell Miller
Gives Joshua a bit more time to develop and Wilder to age ever so slightly.
I would suggest that is the game plan although David Haye and Tyson Fury could also want a piece of Joshua before Wilder does.
I would ideally like David Haye to wipe everyone out but he seems to be running out of time and I don't think he has 4 or 5 big fights left in him at 37 years old. Does Fury have 4 or 5 big fights left despite being only 29 years old probably not. Wilder should get his chance soon enough.
I personally would like in Spring 2018
Wilder take Whyte fight for $4m
Haye (beat Bellew first) then get WBO belt from Parker
Joshua fight his WBA Mandatory
Summer 2018
Haye v Joshua
Tyson Fury return
Dec 2018
Haye or Joshua v Wilder
Spring 2019
Winner of unification v Tyson Fury

I think Wilder vs Joshua is THE FIGHT at HW. Parker hasn't impressed or seems to have as much hype behind him & that being the final unification fight seems anticlimactic to me.
Plus I think Canelo vs GGG II will happen in May so I think they'd wanna try to make Wilder vs Joshua, again the biggest fight to make a HW, in the second half of the year so the attention for either fight doesn't step on the other fight as we saw with MayMac & Canelo vs GGG I.

lol @ thinking hearn is putting him in with miller, parker or wilder next year
I'm not sure Joshua is smelling his own farts enough to not fight at least one of those guys next year as long as he fights twice or some bs mandatory's get pulled on him. And honestly I don't see THAT much to be worried about with a guy like Parker in particular. I'd bet Takam lasted more rounds than Parker will.

Arum's gonna milk a HW title holder for all he's worth, bet on that. And I bet he's hoping he can sign a scary HW sometime soon to match up with Parker (idk that Jennings is that guy & off the top of my head I can't think of any HW Arum has that might be able to beat Parker unless Ruiz gets another run at him) & try to get a bigger draw in the US perhaps if Parker doesn't catch bigger fire as I don't expect him too.

Pulev will pick up that WBA belt and Hearn can sell that to the casuals as a 'unification' and finally the whyte rematch is a no brainer for Hearn, they can get the skysports propaganda machine to start up with the infamous 'left hook in the 2nd rnd' and 'bad blood' type crap etc
It would sell a ton.
I think Wilder is michael grant but that right hand is still legit regardless, its too much of a risk, and Miller is too high risk for too low reward (wont sell enough)
Think about it, the entire matchroom promotion dies if and when AJ gets knocked out. who else does hearn have? the corpse of kell brook? who is busy sucking off his bf in Marbella to even care about re-building his career at this stage.
Scott quigg? lol, seriously who else does Hearn have.
And AJ is hardly as loved as Frank Bruno was, his entire fanbase are not even boxing fan's they are casuals that will lose interest the second AJ gets sparked out, the whole mystique around AJ is the '0' and the KO's. Once thats ended, the interest from the casual fan who has been led to believe that AJ is the incarnation of muhammad ali (the white robe) the chatter of AJ is the 'best heavyweight from britain ever' im serious Skysports actually said that y'day. ends too. Hearn can't start the rebuilding proces on PPV.
AJ aient Ali, He's Frank Bruno lets be honest. but - the personality and lovable persona.Last edited by mlac; 10-29-2017, 06:51 PM.
