Who TF is Tia Kiran or whatever he's the #1 contender for Keith Thurman. I guess that's his next opponent.

      He's been #1 since January.

Has held the PABA welterweight title for six years, which was the longtime WBA affiliate in Asia, so he was moving up the rankings for a long time. He's 38-0.

WTF was this article about? I've made more sense out of Hegel and Kant. I heard some time ago the WBA was going to conduct a round robin tournament to unify the 'regular' titles with the 'super' titles.

But they ain't done ****e. And this farce is even too much for the insane, neo-capitalist, corrupt sport of 'boxing'.

I'm a tragic, suffering, romantic who dreams of a unified sport with one governing body - the UBAO (unified boxing associations of the world) going back to the old divisions, with video refereeing, promoters and managers banned from associating with officials before a fight..yeah right.

The WBC wants to incorporate a 'super' heavyweight division and the WBA is going to continue expanding it's meaningless 'chumpionship' system that will resemble the amount of useless euphemism sounding loyalty cards in your wallet- from bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and titanium, youth, elder, transgender, short, tall, skinny, fat, fool and smart championship belts.

There'll be so many belts they'll have to move manufacturing to China to accomodate the volume.

The winner is going to leave with about $10M+. 1M was easily Brant's biggest payday & probably by a nice %.

Tell me what road did Brant reasonably have to $10M+ by May 2018 besides this tournament? Or what fight was he gonna get a million for yesterday besides the Braehmer fight?

The fact it didn't work out for him doesn't mean it was a bad move. And if he got into a good belt position with his bs record up til yesterday idk why he can't do that again over the next year or two. I mean he just turned 27 he's got plenty of time to get back where he was & he likely gets more money now since his name got out there a hell of a lot more than it had previous to this tournament.
Wasn't aware that WBSS was paying so well then OK yeah he can always work his way back up at 160

Yep. He's a lil blurb from Iole about how Schaefer said things "could work" back in March. There has been nothing official about how the payouts actually are going, but its a safe bet its this or at least similar to this cuz its still a sh^tload of money to divide up ($50M, $25M per weight division).

Also looks like its a 500k win bonus not a 1M win bonus so I was incorrect about that part.

In the quarterfinals, there will be seven fights. Under one hypothetical scenario Schaefer discussed, all eight fighters would be guaranteed $1 million for their opening round bouts, with the four winners each getting a $500,000 bonus. That would add another $2 million to the first round and would mean $10 million of the $25 million would be paid out in the quarterfinals.

With four fighters in the semifinals, then each fighter could be guaranteed $1.5 million, with a $1 million bonus to each winner. That would mean the winners would make $2.5 million each and that the total spent in the semifinals would be $8 million.

And then in the finals, each fighter could be guaranteed $2.5 million and a win bonus of $2 million.

Thats why I've been saying that some divisions don't make sense with the WBSS or make less sense for the biggest names. HW or Caneloweight wouldn't make sense cuz the best HW's & anyone fighting Canelo is getting paid better, but most divisions this tournament is a gold mine for the best guys in the division.

Politcally Im doubting Kiram ever gets a shot at Thurman. Rungvisai nearly killed the superfly division by beating Gonzalez, remains to be seen if he achieved it. Doubt US TV wants a repeat any time soon
