If Jermall is the best middleweight of all time then Trout must be the 2nd best middleweight of all time because Trout almost beat Jermall. I think Jacobs would KO Jermall. Having a tattoo of a lion on his chest doesn't make Jermall a lion. If Jermall is as good as you claim he is he will get his chance to prove it. There are other good middleweights besides Jacobs who will fight him. He didn't look very scary needing 4 rounds to KO a crippled boxer in his first fight at middleweight

GGG isn't fighting Jermall because of the rematch with Canelo. If he fought Jermall next he would be accused of ducking Canelo. If he beats Canelo or doesn't fight Canelo in a rematch then he should fight Jermall next. Right now it's too early to say he is ducking Jermall with the biggest rematch in boxing awaiting him in May 2018. Maybe the OP is trying to deflect the obvious or maybe he is just a huge Jermall fan. Who knows. GGG can't fight every good middleweight at the same time and Canelo seems like his obvious first choice.

and some just want to see a challenger actually have a credible win (or 2) in the division before being anointed as the second coming of SRR.

At this moment Charlo has no more credibility at middleweight than Dominic Wade had.
