Comments Thread For: Frank Warren on Saunders vs. Lemiuex, Horn vs. Corcoran

TWO OF OUR men are off on world title travels before Christmas in what should make for a thrilling end to the year. Billy Joe Saunders defends his WBO world middleweight title against the big-hitting David Lemieux in Montreal on December 16 in a clash that has all the makings of a classic. Bill defending away from home was a big decision for us. We thought about it long and hard and what swung it was the fact that it is a live primetime slot on HBO.

"Bill defending away from home was a big decision for us..." Just defending seems to be an issue, never mind away! lol

I'm hoping Lemieux KO's BJS in this one as he is not as choosy and inactive as Saunders. At least Lemmy tries to fight roughly three times a year, and let's not forget he put his IBF belt on the line after winning it against N'dam N'jikam in his first defence against the then serially avoided Gennady Golovkin.
The one problem (depending on your POV) might be the much sought after unification fight for the last piece of the undisputed puzzle GGG wants; A rematch between Lemmy and G might not draw much attention as we saw Golovkin outbox Lemmy and therefore produce a fight that most fans would have predicted as a power-punching slugfest.
Would Lemmy agree to a rematch with GGG? What if (and it's a big possibility) Canelo wins the rematch - will he seek out the WBO belt or continue to irritate fans with his Mayweather style business model?
The MW division really is the IN division right now, and I think fans are hoping that all that talent doesn't get wasted on mismatches, inactivity and just BS.
