Comments Thread For: Malignaggi, Bellew, Coldwell Give Takes on Wilder vs. Whyte

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte, and his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, are pushing hard to secure a February showdown in London with WBC kingpin, Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KOs). Whyte returns on Saturday night in a battle with Robert Helenius as part of the Anthony Joshua vs. Carlos Takam undercard in Cardiff, Wales. Wilder is back on November 4th, when he defends his title in a rematch with Bermane Stiverne at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Is a nice idea but Hearn seems dead set on ensuring that Wilder takes on Whyte before Joshua to build him up in the UK a little more so all a Big Baby vs Bodsnatcher fight would do is delay a unification.

Wilder is an overwhelming favorite against Whyte but certainly Whyte will come & fight.

You can call him a live underdog and you won't be far from right.
Wilder's chin is not well tested and with Whyte recent gain of weight, his power can do enough damage to shock Wilder.

However, Wilder's power in his right hand coupled with his long reach will secure him a late KO but it will be a fantastic fight to watch.

Wilder should embrace the fight if he is okay with the money.

I think the Bodysnatcher gets put into retirement by Miller so he wouldn't be in the picture anymore.

Wilder atm is lucky if he gets a 20/80 split against Joshua. He's unknown in America and unknown in the UK. He's had almost 40 fights but somehow never had a serious fight. If he fought Whyte, chances are it would be a bit of a thriller but Deontay would be favourite to come out on top. A win against Whyte in England might warrant something more like 40/60 in the Joshua fight. Obviously him and his people see it as too much of a risk of spoiling the Joshua fight, which is fair enough.

Joshua is apparently making £15 million for his defence against Takam, while sources say Wilder is making around $1 million against Stiverne. LOL

Big Baby's last fight proved that he has no power. He's a fat motherf***** but the other guy was never hurt in the fight. Whyte would put his lights out

I would rather see Wilder vs. Miller in Alabama or Brooklyn! I do understand Hearn's tactics, building up Wilder in the UK, but I don't like the thought of a Champion traveling to the country of a Challenger!

I felt like Wilder should of been fought Miller but the reality is that Wilder should of fought Fury after Stiverne then Povetkin and Ortiz last while Joshua fought Miller after Breazele then fought Parker it made sense financially plus it also helped the doubt of people talking about them fighting bums which is not th case they are both being heavily ducked at the moment
