Clinching I don't mind running as long as you're throwing punches like sergio Martinez and not like Lara.refs should take points for clinching and let the victim of the clinch punch them behind the head and balls

Surely the counter for clinching is to literally overpower your opponent that is trying to clinch excessively?

Running for me (on the proviso we're talking running and not throwing), rather than creating distance to fight from range).

I define 'running' as creating distance without attacking. In other words, putting one's self in a position / distance so that they can't get hit by their opponent, but they can't also land any punches on their opponent as well.
I would say running because in order to clinch you have to be in punching range

Clinching is worse by far in my opinion. Excessive clinching is illegal in boxing. Excessive running isn't illegal and it only hurts the runner's chances of winning the fight. Excessive holding keeps the other boxer from throwing punches. Clinching is fine and legal in MMA and part of the fight strategy but not in boxing. Too much illegal excessive clinching ruins a boxing match.

            Clinching

Excessive clinching is illegal , excessive running isnt

Clinching much less pleasing on the eye. Also, the guy running is eventually gonna tire so thats good.

Definitely clinching. I hate it the most.

You're getting in there to fight not to hug.

Though clinching can be tactical for many things, catching breath, conserving stamina, stop your opponent and so on.

              Look at W. Klitschko

Hate both, but clinching is tolerable if it's not excessive and it's followed by inside shots.
