Comments Thread For: McCracken: Joshua Hasn't Made Same Mistakes Froch Once Did

Rob McCracken knows what it's like to train a favored world champion who won't work as hard as usual for an opponent he thinks can't beat him. That's what happened when Carl Froch didn't prepare properly to defend his super middleweight titles against George Groves in their first fight. It nearly cost Frosh dearly, as Groves floored Froch in the first round of a fight Froch came back to win by ninth-round technical knockout in May 2013 in Manchester, England.

This is heavyweight boxing 1 punch can change the dynamic of a fight.Joshua coming in heavy for this fight sounds like upset can become a reality.Joshua has shown stamina issues in the past.

Worrying weight considering he has looked gassed in fights. Saying that he found a second gear against Klitschko so it still could be just about learning to pace himself properly.

Gassed in fights? Which fights has Joshua gassed in?

He was hurt in the Wlad fight, not gassed, and got a second wind after seeming out of it for 2 rounds but eventually stopped him.

I'm trying to think of another fight where Joshua gassed?

What are you talking about, he looked totally spent from rounds 6-10 in the Klit fight. Not hurt, that sh** doesn’t carry over for 4 rounds. He looked fatigued.

You even use the term yourself ‘second wind’.

If you can’t see that then I can’t help you.

Even so,that's 1 fight? Your contributing to the perception that Joshua gasses late in fights, when there is zero evidence to suggest that other than 1 fight against a legend when he was seriously hurt before "gassing"

No, I think he has looked as if he could be gassing midway through fights.

I saw shades of it in the Whyte fight also.

He carries a lot of weight and often I’ve seen him slow down and look a little lethargic, his moves get laboured, his head gets a little wobbly.

It’s my perception. You don’t have to agree.
