Wilder had the scare of his life with Ortiz, the first genuine competition he has had in 4 years as champ, I can't imagine he'd like to go through that again with an AJ paycheck waiting. He knows the fight is unlikely next, so rather than facing his next best competitor, he may take the year out or fight a bum, all the while ranting and raving about AJ so he can keep himself relevant.

What he does not realise is that by not fighting often enough or the best, he has made the WBC title almost as irrelevant as the WBO in the 90s.

I dont think he can get away so long Joshua will have another fight maybe Miller or Pove or even 3. In that time who can Wilder fight it can only be Whyte unless the corruption kicks in at the WBC which is what I expect. Although Hearn is getting more powerful everyday so I think he will have no choice, either way Hearn is in control he owns Wilder they can make him and his belt irrelevant.

Thats a Whyte duck if that happens simple, Breaze had has done nothing over Whyte to get a shot before him, what more must Whyte do?

He challenged Povetkin and Ortiz and it fell out due to drug testing and still fought Ortiz.

I don't see too many fighters lining up to fight Wilder. AJ won't even call him out, at least Whyte looks like the only willing fighter that has been trying to get a fight

Whyte is nr 1, nothing more he can do, it's the matter of corrupted WBC protecting Wilder. Having said that I would be happy with him fighting Breazeale also, just because they both wanna kill each other.

Yeah just look at the WBC post vitali. Stiverne and areola fought for it and then wilder took it and has dragged it into the mud. Sad times.
