Comments Thread For: WBO Confirm Lightweight Champ Terry Flanagan Moves To 140

Terry Flanagan has moved up in weight after a frustrating reign as a lightweight world champion. The WBO king, who had five defences of the crown he won back in 2015, had the move confirmed by the sanctioning body on social media on Thursday. Flanagan (33-0, 13 KOs) recently said that a deal was "all but done" to fight Jorge Linares, the WBC Diamond champion at 135 pounds, but it has now been confirmed that the 28-year-old will campaign a division north at super-lightweight.

He's probably gunning for Mikey Garcia, but that won't happen unless Mikey Garcia signs with GB. So his move is worthless considering he just left a good division for a dead division with no money fights other than MG who will probably go back to 135.

Garcia vs. Flanagan, or Garcia vs. Figueroa Jr., the vacant title @ 140! Make it happen!

Damn wtf, needs to move from Warren if anything. Garcia and Linares both wanted to unify with him and he does this. Flanagan vs Catterall coming to the Copper Box for vacant WBO

Running from Linares, think he will struggle at 140 personally

Chicken Flangan, he does not want money otherwise would have defened against Beltran no respect for him
