Comments Thread For: Richard Schaefer is Thrilled With WBSS Cruiserweight Semi-Finals

With IBF cruiserweight champion, Murat Gassiev, folding Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in three rounds this past weekend at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the semi-finals of the World Boxing Super Series are now set. Gassiev will face WBA titlist Yunier Dorticos in a unification showdown of the two most feared hitters at the weight. On the other side of the bracket, WBO champion and Olympic gold medal winner Oleksandr Usyk takes on Latvian superstar Mairis Breidis, who has the WBC belt.

You couldn't have asked for a better set of match-up as all four major belt-holders in this division are squaring up for the right to box for the Muhammad Ali Trophy.
I thought Lebedev had one of the belts? Huh?

Now would be a good time to announce the next tournaments. The question is which divisions?

Why is this "news"? Of course Richard is thrilled about anything he's involved in.

Not to say the CWT tournament semis are not good match-ups, but if he had the world's worst tournament he'd still try to sell/promote it (dunno how well he's actually promoting anything WBSS though, really).

ESPN or FOX should jump all over these tourney semi-finals and finals!

                  175 maybe, minus the WBC

                  Kovalev
                  Gvozdyk
                  Beterbiev
                  Barrera
                  Bivol

Throw in a couple of Sauerlands and a Brit, as they do

Lebedev lost the IBF belt to Gassiev, but he "preserved" the WBA belt...
