Firstly, in all of Rigondeaux's bouts against other fellow southpaws, his counter punching usually decreases because he isn't as effective at using this tactic against other southpaws, compared to using it against orthodox boxers like Nonito Donaire.
Secondly, Vasyl Lomachenko is simply too good to be countered, offensively and defensively. He has an extremely versatile offense which allows him to set up his punches in various different ways via feinting, probing and so forth so on. Rigondeaux is going to fall for a trap or be baited into throwing counters which Lomachenko would most likely exploit. Rigondeaux is very easy to feint out of position. However, no boxer until now has had the athletic ability to exploit the advantages gained from doing so.
