Potato Potahto. He should just stay with Hearn and negotiate a lower percentage when the contract is up, or a capped figure for Hearn. That way no one feels slighted. Sometimes a harmonious team is better than a bit more money.

The situation with Mayweather and Goldenboy/Schaefer was a bit different as they never really promoted him in the first place. So from Schaefer's perspective they could be part of the Mayweather business and make money, or not be a part of it and make no money, easy call.

The part I agree with you is that, 20% of £5 million, or £10 million is...I guess acceptable seeing as Hearn does bring Sky to the table and is a hard working promoter and there is a lot of shiz to organise when it comes to a major boxing event. But AJ is fast becoming a £20-25 million fighter, at that point 20% is a lot to giveaway and too much for the job a promoter does. So I think they will need to re-negotiate and come to some kind of understanding.

AJ can now look after himself and his family by leaving Hearn.

Of course he CAN. But does that also mean that he SHOULD?

And I really dont think he is in any hurry to leave Eddie Hearn.

Thats what I'm saying. The fact Schaefer didn't promote Floyd previously is of no importance to what I'm saying. The way in which they work together is. And yea Hearn is being overpaid at some point & Hearn likely realized that was going to be a reality before Joshua so if he was smart he headed it off at the pass to avoid future bad feelings.

Hearn seems like he gots more of a legit guy approach & honesty in how he speaks then the average promoter so I'm sure the relationship between him & Hearn is a good one that both guys would work towards keeping intact, but sometimes if one or both sides get a lil too caught up in silly sh^t or in being too unrealistic with the way the wind is blowing than yes sometimes cutting the cord is necessary. I'd doubt the latter would need to be the case, but both sides in particular Hearn would need to realize it could happen to be fully onboard with a paradigm change in how they operate.

Well, just from the perspective of having more freedom and keeping more money for him, I don't see why he shouldnt leave Hearn.

Eddie has really placed his fathers company in a tough position, is AJ ever leaves or implodes, they don't have anyone to fall back on.

In short AJ ain't making bank like he is without Hearn, without Hearn aint no Sky deal for him, simple.

As for Hearn being a leach, ain't every promoter ? I look at him and see he is doing an incredible job, they're selling ppv events involving Bellew and Cleverly, Bellew and Haye, AJ versus absolutely ANYBODY. And you're gonna sit there and tell me Hearn aint doing the hard work ? Gtfo of here man.
