Comments Thread For: Adalaide Byrd Back, Worked Mayweather Promotion Card

Less than two weeks ago, the executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission, Bob Bennett, denied reports that controversial boxing judge Adalaide Byrd was under some form of suspension. In fact, Bennett made it clear that Byrd would expected "back soon." Bennett was not kidding, as Byrd made her return last Saturday night at Sam's Town in Las Vegas, where she worked the Mayweather Promotions card that was topped by Sharife Bogere.

A disgrace. And one of the reasons boxing will never again be mainstream.

Take a break? That's it? When your overseeing judges like Bennett is doing you need to fire and hire. Taking a break doesnt do shít.

Easy to take a break when there were barely any shows in that period.

              Good point.

If there is something positive to take away from this is, I guess the incident is noted and a punishment was issued (despite being lax). When she fùcks up again, people need to get crazy so she gets put on break again and hopefully there is a three strike thing going on over there.

But we all know she'll be on her best behavior for a while. Long enough that people will forget about the current incident and she'll rinse/repeat like she always does.

It doesn't matter. She and the promoter/boxing in general is corrupt, bought, paid-off, her score was written out before the fight happened. It's just the facts. She followed orders to have a card with Saul Alvarez winning. This happens on pretty much every fight card. I'd imagine she gained financially but that isn't always the motivation.

Adalaide Byrd has more balls than some NSB members who try to calibrate their score to make it seem they are not bias: giving Golovkin two rounds is something that only genuine conviction will cause you to present such a score ; she could of made it easier on herself if she was being dishonest or as some people have said 'Corrupt' and gave Triple-duck a closer score less con****uous but just like me she seen Golovkin clearly dominated.

                    - I respect this womans courage for standing on principle. Glad Las Vegas has knowledgeable and professional officials.
