Comments Thread For: Valera: I'll School Sullivan Barrera, Then I Want Sergey Kovalev

On November 25th, on the same card where former light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev will face Vyacheslav Shabranskyy, Cuba's Sullivan Barrera will return to the ring in the HBO televised co-feature against Felix "Mangu" Valera. "Mangu," a 29-year-old former WBA interim-light heavyweight world champion with a 15-1 record with 13 KOs, had won the WBA's interim title on August 23, 2015, after beating the Russian-born Ukrainian, Stanislav Kashtanov, by split decision in a battle held in Yalta, Crimea.

Barrera should be able to get a fight with Kovalev or Bivol since they're all HBO fighters. He's more deserving of a big shot than either actually.

I don't know, I think I agree on Bivol. The kid has been really solid and most of all, hungry without the loss.

Then there is the age, Bivol is 26, Barerra is 35.

That dude is not 29 years old. More like 39 and lying about his age.
