I hope these tournaments start becoming a regular thing every year in a majority of the divisions. Tournaments are what will bring boxing back. best vs best, where opponents do not get to cherry pick lesser opponents or preferred styles, is what will bring boxing back. Contracted fights to happen now, not after opponents get old, is what, more than anything, will bring boxing back. GGG-Canelo was supposed to bring boxing back, except as usual they waited until GGG got old, and the fight was a giant letdown, as usual. Letdowns do not bring boxing back. Usyk, Gassiev, Dorticos, and Breidis are in their primes, and that's why this tournament will be a success, more than anything. Not the names involved, but the fact these are top level prime boxers.

Before the fight you said ggg was gonna smash Canelo and that Canelo didn't have the power to get ggg's respect so he'll get walked through!

Now that didn't happen you b!+ch and whine on how old ggg is when Canelo has more pro boxing wear and tear than ggg does and is the only person saying the fight was a letdown!

This is a tournament where the best challenge themselves, unlike ggg who stayed in a dead division for years and got pound for pound hype off of knocking over bowling pins and garbage bin collectors!

This tournament is great, it's a shame that guys like Lara who yes is very skilled but basically cruises against guys who are not on his level within in his division gets main event status while KO punchers with skills like Doritos, Gassiev and etc. are subjected to streams and low quality tv channels!

Showtime and HBO should pick this up!

Whoever wins this tournament will be in the top 10 pound for pound and maybe even top 5!

Lmao yea child ******er Oscar is the worst. He’s dealing with karma for being a rapist and ******. That’s why the only fighter he has that’s profitable is Canelo and he owes 10million for stealing him. He should just sell gb to Schafer so he can get the company back to where it was until crackhead took over. They tried to tie Berchelt up but he was smart enough to not sign to the sinking ship. Matthyse was one of the hottest names in boxing until Oscar effed his career up lol

I would say the WBSS been a success! Probably could've been a bit more organized with the TV Deal but as for the matches and Presentation....EXCELLENT!

Since Schaefer promotes Leo Santa Cruz why not organize a WBSS Tournament for 126 which is so needed!

The Field should be:
Leo Santa Cruz, Oscar Valdez, Gary Russell Jr, Abner Mares, JoJo Diaz, Lee Selby, Carl Frampton, Jorge Lara

JoJo Diaz is with GBP and Oscar Valdez is with Top Rank so that could be a Road Block which is a problem with boxing right now is all these Road Blocks and having to deal with Promoters and Networks blocking fights because of personal feelings

It's a good tourney so far, but it definitely needs more US TV exposure.
