Comments Thread For: Andrade: I Did Very Well in 160 Debut, I'll Fight Anybody!

Two-Time undefeated world champion Demetrius Andrade made a successful debut as a middleweight by winning a dominant 12-round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Alantez Fox at The Turning Stone Resort Casino. The bout was the co-feature bout of an HBO Boxing After Dark(r) tripleheader. In round one, Andrade rocked Fox with a blistering straight left hand. Fox was wobbled badly, and Andrade jumped on Fox. After landing several hard follow up shots, Fox was able to hold on and get out of the first frame. Andrade was dominant as he continued to land swift combinations at will. That opening flurry caused Fox to engage very sporadically during the fight

After Lemieux-Saunders, I'd like to see:

    Lemieux vs Jermall Charlo
    Deryvanchenko vs Andrade
    Jacobs vs Lara
    Hurd vs Jermell Charlo

Even though some of them are at 154, some are at 160, those guys are all basically the same size. 154 at the moment is basically the same as middleweight. All the top guys at 154 are draining down from 180+, while the two top guys at 160, GGG and Canelo, are smaller middleweights, historically speaking. So the combination of having a historically small middleweight class (at the very top, Jacobs and Lemieux aside), and historically huge junior middleweight class, means that the two are actually the same.

So I would like to see those fights. Also, people have mentioned JRoc vs Lubin, but I would like to see JRoc vs Tony Harrison. Both of them were overpowered by bigger men in their last fights. This lets them fight guys their size this time, guys who won't check their chins as badly in their comeback fight, but guys who are still on the top level. Instead of learning nothing about JRoc in his last fight, because the size advantage of Jermall Charlo took over, that fight would allow us to see JRoc's skills tested against maybe the most skilled pure boxer (chin and stamina aside) at 154, and it would also give Harrison a chance to prove himself against a different style. He's already shown he struggles with big punchers at the top level, but styles make fights, and maybe he can show he can still beat top talents, just of a different style.

    So:

    Lemieux vs Jermall Charlo
    Deryvanchenko vs Andrade
    Jacobs vs Lara
    Hurd vs Jermell Charlo
    JRoc vs Tony Harrison
    Lubin vs Trout
    Murata vs Saunders

    Something like that.

I dont think anyone can knock his talent

If he was active and in competitive fights he'd be one of the top guys - no question

But he's not. He needs to sort his situation out or he remains irrelevant

"He was a big test. Nobody would step up and face him, and I did. This is why I am the best, because I am willing to face anybody. Fox is a good fighter and he will do damage down the line, but like I told everybody before the fight, Look out It's me again!."
