Did I hear that right? Am I the only one who caught that? Oscar looked good but I dont know if he looked 149 good.
Im surprised that he actually said that though because now it has me wondering. A couple of fights ago remember how he was talking about coming down to 147?
If he weighs 149 right now, before training then he can fight Floyd at 147. I dont think anyone assumed the fight would be at 147 and I still dont think it will be but maybe Oscar has something else in mind.
Floyd is a small guy and it will be hard for him to go up to 154 but on the other hand, if Oscar's in great shape then he may feel like that he will be even stronger at 147 and will beat Floyd even worse. Whats your thoughts on this? If Oscar can make 147 comfortably and without draining himself then do you think its possible that he can be even better at 147 or has a better chance of killing Floyd at 147?
Also, Im starting to think that Oscar really wants to go down in History as a All Time Great. I think pretty much 99% of the people think that Floyd is a better pound for pound fighter easily but he could lose because Oscar is good and 154 would be way too much for Floyd against a great fighter like Oscar. Thats why if Floyd does lose then Oscar will get alot of credit but alot of the people will still say that Floyd is better but 154 was just way too big for him.
However if Oscar beats him at 147 then no one can say that and his win would look 10x better. He would actually beat the best pound for pound fighter in his own weight class. How special would that be? We all know that Floyd right now is probally still better at 140 but he is still great at 147 and to beat him there would be big.
Also, Oscar looks glowing after his Mayorga win and I know he's rich but Oscar truly has a chance to go down in History as one of the best ever. Think about this: He beat Vargas, Sturm, Mayorga, really beat Shane once, really beat Tito, Quartey, Chaves, Sweet Pea, Gatti, and a bunch of other names. Now all of those wins werent as great as there names but its still a good resume but thats not my point. Now think about this: He beats Floyd at 147 for huge PPV numbers that could set records. Now he's at 147, the best division in boxing and everyone wants to fight Oscar.
If he beats Floyd then theres no reason to think he couldnt beat Hatton, then Cotto, Margarito, Castillo, and on and on until he retires. Imagine retiring with those names?
Its all still just crazy fantasy talk because were all pretty sure that this fight will happened at 154 and it will be Oscars last "but" what if it is at 147? Things would get real intersting then. Either way you look at it, a win over Floyd at 147 would look much more impressive but would the fight still be as exciting to you guys and would the guys who picked Oscar 1st still think he would win or would the odds on the fight change more in Floyds favor or will this make the odds and the people who were picking Oscar 1st even more convinced that he would win?
