It was one of those fights that was that boring I didn't care about who got the decision. I think I had Holyfield winning around the 7-5 or 8-4 mark. I also wouldn't of considered Holyfield the oldest HW champ ever as he was only 46 when he fought Valuev and Foreman remained lineal HW champ until he was 48.
I agree! (Evander Holyfield in that last stint of his career, worked so hard to capture another shot at the world title! I can remember watching interviews where he was stating, that he did zero sparring and mainly just focused on conditioning and pad-work! He had to adapt his entire training philosophy just to stay in the game! And this showed in this fight, through his performance! Technically in my opinion he won the boxing match! But I have always felt that the powers that be in boxing? Wanted Evander Holyfield to retire!
