It's not hating. This is a forum where people express their opinions, wether they've laced up or not, they still have an opinion.

It's obvious at this point cotto wants to go out with a couple of wins and look good rather than go out with a **** with a more risky high profile fight. That's his choice and you can argue he's earned the right to do that with some of the great fights he's had.
As fans we don't have to like it though, it's not the WWE were they roll out hulk hogan for wrestlemania to pick up a win for a thanks for the memories nostalgia trip.
It's not a rjj situation either were his skills are so faded he has to fight that calibre of fighter, he's still got enough to fight at top level. The fact he wants to coast looking good for some easy money I find a bit of an ego trip and a p1ss take expecting fans to part with their hard earned cash to watch it.
Especially with roach running his mouth pretending he's still ambitious and relevant.

that was a good comment man thanks for your insight you made some real good points. I kind of agree now you mention it i guess it's his choice to go out like that.

Cotto is too small for these guys. Props if he really wants to chase the winner- but Canelo in a rematch brings more confidence than their first fight, Golovkin would walk him down with more success than he had against the much heavier handed Canelo.

I can only see a bad night for Cotto with either of these guys, but dude is a warrior without a doubt.

Cheers mate and I appreciate how you read the post with an open mind rather than seeing it as argumentative. I'd sooner discuss boxing with someone with an open mind who may see things differently from me than with someone who might share my opinion but is fiercely dogmatic about it.
I loved his fights against Mosley, Judah, Torres and pacquiao so it's a shame if he wants to go out like that, beating up and showcasing your skills against an opponent not on your level to bow out leaves a lingering impression of a bully rather than a warrior.

It's roach that really gets under my skin though, if cotto wants to do that then quit talking up fights against the biggest names in the sport. Lost a ton of respect for that guy with the way he laughingly wrote off and ridiculed algieri and horn in the build up to Pac man fights. Incredibly disrespectful and unnecessary, they weren't grudge matches and neither guy did anything to provoke it.

You're spot on with Roach mate the way he was talking up the GGG vs Canelo winner for a potential opponent for Cotto was infuriating let alone comical. I guess Horn had the last laugh in that instance anyway!
