Comments Thread For: Rob Brant's Promoter Confident Boxer Will Win WBSS at 168

Greg Cohen, promoter of middleweight/super middleweight contender Rob Brant, says his undefeated fighter is headed for a "changing of the guard" fight against Juergen Braehmer. Brant (22-0, 15 KOs) and Braehmer (48-3, 35 KOs) will meet on Friday October 27, at the Kongresshalle in Schwerin, Germany, as part of the World Boxing Super Series' super middleweight division.

Rob Brant is trained by Derrick James (Spence, Charlo trainer)....that will be Brant's ace in the hole.

Was watching what I can last night. He's going to be small. Another worry is if he can go the 12 championship rounds. Not sure how many times he's gone the 12 before.

I think everyone is hoping he becomes the andre ward of the tournament but hes not as good, and the level of competition is much tougher than the super 6 with fighters like Eubank, Smith, Groves amd even Braehmer.

It willl be an uphill battle for him.

This tournament is definitely not as good as the Super 6 tournament that Ward was in. Froch KO'd Groves and he is projected to win the tournament by many. Compare that list to Kessler, Froch, Ward, a hungry Dirrell,... It's not even close in caliber... Because of the middling competition, it wouldn't shock me in the slightest if Brant pulled this off. He has a good coach with him. He has excellent sparring partners in Spence and Jermell Charlo. Also, he will have a speed advantage because he is a pretty small guy. And he can crack. We'll see how it plays out....

Sauerlands would have a fit if he even got to the final. Theyre banking on an all UK stadium fight to recoup some of the cash. Would be a nightmare for them if an American got to the final on a TV channel most of them don't have.

Brant brings down the WBSS before it even gets going

If thats his ace in the hole he's f#cked lol. Trainer can't fight for you & Spence + Charlo got more going on then this guy to have done what they've done.

In regards to the promoter whats he supposed to say? "My guy is lucky to get past the first round & will be even luckier if he makes it to the finals & he'll be the luckiest guy in boxing if he somehow comes away with a W + $10M+ by winning this whole thing.

Eubank is more skilled than Froch, as is Callum Smith and so is Braehmer. The super 6 wouldve been interesting if Dirrell wasnt such a *****. The two best fighters in that tournament were Ward and Dirrell and Dirrell dropped out early leaving stiff punchers like Froch and Kessler.
