Who has the bigger speed advantage, Rigo or Loma?

Speed and quickness go hand in hand with timing and footwork. Loma has some of the best I've ever seen, and seems to get better every fight! I'm pumped fellas!!!!!Comment

I think Rigo's punches are faster. Being 8 pounds lighter doesn't make him faster. Lots of lighter weight boxers have great speed. I doubt the average hand speed of a 122 pound boxer is any faster than that of a fast 130 pound boxer. For combinations I think Loma is just as fast. For single punches I think Rigo has more speed. That speed and snap and putting his weight into the punch gives Rigo great power for his weight.Comment

Concerning speed, it's a tough call but Rigo edges it in the power department.
I can see Loma's punch output dropping for this fight. He's won't be able to use his feeler combinations to set up his big weapons. Rigo will punish Loma by countering any lazy punch coming his way.
I think Loma's speed is partly attributed to his fast footwork. He gets himself within range in a flash and thus shortens the travel distance of his punches.Comment

Speed in boxing is a combination of hand speed and reflexes. Rigo has better hand speed and reflexes so he's fasterComment

I agree with much of this assessment, especially the first sentence. Rigo has some heavy hands, and he throws punches with bad intentions. That hook to the liver is killer. Even at this weight, where Lomo is the bigger man, Vasyl is likely to ease up when he feels that power for the first time.Concerning speed, it's a tough call but Rigo edges it in the power department.

Oh yeah, I see it a mile away. Loma going to keep those hands more at home for sure.Concerning speed, it's a tough call but Rigo edges it in the power department.

according to boxrec, rigo has a 2.5" reach advantage but when I look at them it doesnt seem like it at all. I dont think loma's arms are unusually short but they list them at 65.5" vs 68" for rigo. They also list loma as 2" taller but I thought the size difference was bigger. Loma looks like he has a better reach advantage maybe because he looks like he has longer legs.
I want to see them side by side in person. I pictured Loma staying outside using his height and combinations, movement ect to outbox rigo. If they are closer in size and loma drops his output and fights Rigo's fight (a slower pace chess match) then he is in trouble.Comment
