Freddie spot on! If Mikey won, it would've been massive! If Cotto won, it would've been diminished because Mikey is WAY smaller! The question I have is why so many offers from Cotto to so many welterweights?

However, Ali fights at 147 and Cotto is a 154 titleholder. He is also a "smaller guy". He was in consideration for fight JMM who is also a "smaller guy" and JMM is super old and probably about the same size as Mikey. Other guys who have not fought at 154 or higher who Cotto's team has considered include Spence, Bradley, Vargas, and DSG. Of course, Mikey is smaller than all those guys, but don't sit up here and pretend like Cotto is only considering people his size. Man, these guys are bizarre with their excuses...Comment

He himself said he would take Ali's spot after his fight on Saturday, but we know GB and Cotto will never take that. I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto and Oscar were in agreement that all the fighters mentioned to fight him, had to sign with GB to get the fight.Comment

He's not wrong. We saw a lot of posters here who were booing the idea of M. Garcia vs. Cotto, stating Mikey was too small. Cotto tried getting fights with Spence, D. Garcia and Canelo, but they had other obligations or didn't want to sign with GBP. No foul against Spence or Mikey Garcia for not wanting to sign with GBP, so I don't see anyone ducking anyone here. Matthysse and Kirkland were offered the fight too. This is just how the cards fell. Can't blame Cotto for trying to get the best possible opponent for his last fight at the Garden.Comment

mikey would have beat him and it would have been too embarrassing for cotto to end his career in that way, beaten by someone half his size.Comment
