Stop it. Not a single fan who actually saw this fight thought lemiuex almost lost. He battered homeboy throughout.

T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas - Former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (38-3, 33 KOs) won a hard-fought ten round unanimous decision over Marcos Reyes (35-5, 26 KOs). The scores were 99-90 99-90, 98-91.

David Lemieux Pounds Away on Bloody Reyes For Decision
        By Keith Idec

LAS VEGAS – David Lemieux looked like he was well on his way Saturday night to his second early, spectacular knockout in eight weeks.

After assaulting Marcos Reyes for the first four rounds, however, Lemieux slowed down somewhat and settled for a convincing 10-round, unanimous-decision win on the Canelo Alvarez-Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. undercard at T-Mobile Arena. Each of the three judges – Eric Cheek (99-90), Burt Clements (98-91) and Glenn Trowbridge (99-90) – scored Lemieux a wide winner.

David Lemieux dominates Marcos Reyes but has to go the distance

LAS VEGAS -- Former middleweight world titleholder David Lemieux, bidding for an eventual showdown with Canelo Alvarez, was forced to go the distance but dominated Marcos Reyes in a decision win on the Alvarez-Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. undercard Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

The judges all scored the fight for Lemieux 99-90, 99-90 and 98-91. ESPN.com also had it for Lemieux 98-91.

You could literally find 1 maybe 2 sympathy rounds for Reyes the entire fight. Not knocking out your opponent who simply survived doesn't equal almost losing a fight. This fight wasn't close Reyes showed heart and a tremendous chin but never threatened to beat Lemiuex stop lying.

This fight will be similar to Billy Joe Saunders vs Gary O'Sullivan. Lemieux is stronger than Gary O'Sullivan, but Gary O'Sullivan moves better than Lemiuex. Both Lemieux and Gary are less skilled than Saundres. Just watch Lemieux vs Marcos Reyes. Lemieux had problems if his opponent had some boxing skills. Saunders outboxed even Eubank jr who is more athletic boxer with pretty good boxing IQ.

          My prediction: Saunders by decision.

I agree there's a good chance Lemieux will get outboxed but I don't think you can question his heart.
He was getting methodically, painfully outboxed, broken down and beaten up against ggg and didn't take the easy way out when he got tagged while he was down and after the fight immediately began chasing a rematch.
If you hit dirrell while he was down he'd still be rolling on the floor now.

Hearn would be too busy trying to make a bjs v Khan stadium "mega fight" to negotiate anything like that.
For the most part he specialises in lining his pockets risk free.

Emanuele Blandamura and then compare that to 35 year old GGG's championship reign pre-2017 with names like Lemieux, Dominic Wade, Rubio, Geale, Murray, Adama, Macklin, Ishida, Rosado, Proksa, Fuchigami, Lajuan Simon and its hardly much better!
Saunders' resume is starting to look fairly healthy, but stacking them up only makes sense if you don't cherrypick the wins - you can't give BJS the Lemieux win in 2017 before he's even got it but then say GGGs 2017 results don't count.

That said clearly BJS' resume is better at age 28 than GGGs was, although the reasons for that are a story unto themselves. It's worth remembering though that Lee was generally seen as roughly on a level with Murray and Macklin (and Barker FWIW) and both Eubank and Saunders were pretty green when they fought... whatever they may go on to achieve.

Still. This is a nice fight and a good clash of styles for my money... whichever way you look at it these are two guys who are amongst the top 5 or 6 in their division and - in theory at least - in their physical primes. What ain't to like?

I know what you mean with Saunders he has a knack of upsetting his opponents rhythm with feint and pivots similar to Tyson fury he'll force lemieux to reset often and he'll be chasing Saunders around the ring erratically not able to get full power off his shots. Can't see him cutting the ring off like golovkin and trapping bjs for longer then a couple seconds
