Pretty sure that's what Wilder did. In fact Wilder tried to evade his mandatory to fight a way better fighter. Fighter tested positive for a banned substance, WBC said they wouldn't sanction the fight if it were to go ahead anyway. Instead Wilder decided to get his mandatory out of the way instead of fighting the cheater.
