I think Whyte's claim to a title shot is the fact that he's ranked 3rd in the WBC rankings with only Stiverne (whom is getting his shot) and Ortiz (whom is soon to be expelled) ahead of him.

Whyte will be the number 1 contender in the WBC afte this fight. No more running for that Alabama Bum Collector, he must fight a top 10 fighter.
