Lubin just made the jump from high school to the big leagues

Thats what happens when you're used to hitting 82 mph fastballs then all of a sudden someone is throwing 98 with a sick breaking ball. Stay in your lane, prospects. Get some experience against different styles and levels of opponents before you make the jump in the deep end. Hasn't ended well for the best 2 prospects at 154 ...

That's why you guys not impressed by a guy like LOMACHENKO doing what he has against the level of guys like Walters and Russell Jr DKSAB. There's lots of really good amateur fighters who never amount to anything.

Nah I had Lubin winning the round until he got KTFO.
Fighting 10 straight cab drivers from Guadalajara did him no good though. Should have fought a guy like Trout first with experience and skill who's maybe a little bit over the hill and got that experience of a big fight and tough opposition.

Lubin made a mistake and got caught in the first round. That has happened to a lot of fighters more experienced than Lubin. No way to tell from that fight if Lubin was outclassed

Thats what I called him, a prospect. The guy had no recognisable wins and hadnt even gone round and somehow he got a world title shot?

i'm glad he wasnt permanently damaged in that one.

It isn't even about being impressed by Loma's wins over GRJ and Walters. It's about "do those wins serve as enough justification to call him top 5 P4P"? For me, the answer is "HELL NO".

And as soon as Loma fights someone else real who isn't 64 years old, greener than grass, or a neverwas, maybe we will see who DKSAB.

Totally agree about Hurd tho. He needed more fights and against real competition before he took on Charlo.

It looks like the KO was swift and the effects not long lasting so I am sure the kid will learn from this.

What does that have to do with Loma being top 5 P4P? Lots of folks thought Chocolatito would beat Rungvisai. When he wound up beating Gonzalez twice that didn't mean Wingsam automatically was top 5 P4P.

Because Rungvaisai was like what? Top 100+ when he fought Roman Gonzalez the first time, I have Estrada, Rungvaisai at top 15.
