I know in the UK it's hard to make sense with Hatton's **** in your throat, but can you please try not to turn this into another PBF vs Hatton thing? Please?

De La Hoya To Announce Fight Soon

        By Mark Vester

At the final press conference for Saturday's pay-per-view battle between Antonio Tarver and Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya told the New York Post that later this month he will announce his plans for a final career fight, to take place in September, and likely against the pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Recently, the final obstacle holding back the fight was no longer and obstacle. Floyd Mayweather Sr., had changed his mind about training Oscar De La Hoya to fight his son, if the money is right.

"It's crunch time now because the pay-per-view deadline is coming up so we can start planning the publicity and all of that. But I truly feel I need a few more days to come up with a definite answer. I've never had to make such a difficult decision in my life," De La Hoya said to the NY Post.

"I'm an ambitious person and a fighter who always wants to fight the best. I realize Floyd Jr. is out there for me and I realize it's a fight that I can win. And obviously I realize it's a fight that I can lose."

Can we stop talking about Hatton? We all know that Hatton would be ******ed if stepped in the ring with Floyd. Let's just leave it at that and talk about this match up

If Floyd wins, what would this do for his legacy?

I agree, I also think this is a bad move for PBF, he is going to have big problems making weight. Look at what happened when he fought Judah, he was a pound under. Why isn't anyone talking about this?

Oscar is too big for Floyd. I want Floyd to take this but its just not realistic.

As I said before he hasn't fought a natural welter, why jump to a huge fight with DLH at SuperWelter. Its not a wise decision and PBF isnt going to make "that" massive of a payout because Oscar tends to take 99%!!!

I dont know about this. The more I think about this the more I feel uneasy about it.
