The Charlos whine a little too much for my liking but the Cotto vs Ali fight for a belt is garbage. Ali a WW gets a money fight as well as a title shot after never fighting in the division that Charlo competes in. Every fighter at 154 should be upset. This is boxing though and everyone knows Cotto was not looking for a real fight.

Charlo has a STRONG resume, probably the strongest at 154 outside of Trout, but Trout's resume comes with the losses, and is probably equal with Lara who has Trout, Canelo and Paul Williams after the Sergio Ko on it.

You mentioned Stevenson as well, who fought Fonfara and Bellew, both would go one to do much better than expected. His resume was better than Kovalev's, who only had a 50yr old Hopkins, a past it Pascal, and two losses to Ward on it.

I'm not a fan of cotto fighting Ali, but dude has earned the right to go out however he wants. Based on who he fought and more importantly, when he fought them, he has one of the best lists of opponents faced of anyone in boxing in the past 20 yrs.

Exactly! That's how I see it. I'm not too thrilled with Cotto fighting Ali for his final fight either but he's earned the right to go out with whoever he wants. The thing that tripps me out is the same people that are bashing Cotto for fighting Ali in his final fight, are the same people who praised Mayweather's final fight. And that goes for fans and other boxers.
Mayweather-Mcgregor took place at 154 and I didn't hear Charlo bashing that fight..
I do think that the race card comes into play here. Most of the people bashing the Cotto-Ali fight are black fans and Fighters. But they sure was swinging off Mayweather's nutts when he fought Mcgregor.
