Secondly, a body attack won't work. Saw it against Brook, every time Brook tried that straight right to the body Spence would counter with an overhand left to the head. Eventually Brook stopped throwing that shot because he didn't wana take more of those overhand lefts to the head.
Secondly, if you gonna attack the body you gonna have to stand in Spence's range, and if you think you gonna win a shootout against him you got another thing coming.
Probably the guy who beats Spence will be the guy who forces him to fight on the back foot. Brook had a lot of success with that because he's big and strong AF himself, but Spence is just so relentless and indomitable you probably have to suck some energy and will directly from your soul itself to keep that up for 12 rounds.
Porter probably has the energy and stamina, but I feel he would get KTFO before the twelfth round by Spence.
I just think if he can fight a perfect fight then he can win, boxing is all about the theater of the unknown!
That still doesn't beg the question, why didn't Porter call out Spence?
Porter said he would fight Spence once he became a top guy with a belt in the division...what happened?
I think Porter would make it a very rough nite for Spence, I dont see him getting stopped cuz he took monster shots from both Brook and Thurman!

Most fighters are only fighting twice a year anyway.
Unlike the guys you've mentioned, Spence has a ton of momentum and it doesn't feel like his team has really taken advantage of it. He's a young titlist who doesn't need to be sitting this long unless he has nagging injuries. He's entertaining to watch and his name needs to be kept in the public consciousness. It's gonna be difficult to hold the public's attention if you're fighting twice a year, but once a year (barring injury) is ridiculous. Spence is not the only guy suffering from this plague of inactivity, but I feel like he's one of the fighters that can potentially push PBC (or boxing in general) forward and therefore cannot be taking long breaks. Spence/Pete is good, but it isn't something we should have to wait next year to see.

Spence's return probably will be announced Saturday during a press conference in Brooklyn, before the start of Showtime's 154-pound championship tripleheader from Barclays Center (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT). The site for the card headlined by Spence-Peterson hasn't been confirmed.

This is actually the biggest threat to Spence RIGHT NOW. Out of all the other top guys Peterson is the only one READY TODAY. Thurman, Garcia, and even Porter ain't ready for that work RIGHT NOW today. They need fights to get ready for that. Thurman especially I mean man what a jive turkey.

Algieri took monster shots from Pac, Provodnikov, and Khan, but didn't get stopped, Spence went in there and ended it in five.
Bundu had never been stopped either, took monster shots from Thurman, but Spence went in the and ended it less than halfway through.
Brook had never been stopped at welterweight before, and took monster shots from Porter, but Spence went in there and broke his eye socket.
You see how that logic doesn't work when it comes to this guy?Last edited by Sledgeweather17; 10-13-2017, 11:04 PM.
