Comments Thread For: DeGale: I'd Like To Fight Groves Again, But I Don't Need Him

JAMES DEGALE wants revenge against George Groves but insists he won't beg to face his old rival again. The IBF super-middleweight champion has just one defeat on his 25-fight record a 2011 loss to Groves. DeGale, 31, also lost in the amateur ranks against his fierce foe, who defends his WBA title against Jamie Cox in the World Boxing Super Series quarter-final at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.

Degale shouldn't be talking about retirement just yet. THeres still a LOT of money on the table. Groves, eubank jnr and smith would all be huge money makers. The benavidez and ramirez fights will be good options for him too

Degale should be looking to get in with the winner of the supermiddle tournament after a warm up.He needs to get his name back out there. The truth is Degale is not a popular fan favourite and will never be so he has to work double hard to keep out there.

Would like to see Degale v Eubank jr.

He's taken some rough scraps lately. I agree that it's some solid $ out there though. All three of those fights mentioned above could be huge for his retirement plan.

James DeGale is on the slide I reckon. He was lucky to get a draw against Badou Jack. I feel as though he will never fulfill his potential. He could have been a British superstar but he never wanted to put the work in. I remember Danny Williams having the same stamina issues as DeGale when he was trained by Jim McDonnell. I just don't rate McDonnell as a trainer AT ALL.

I'm prob one of the few that thought he did enough to beat Jack. Jack's knockdown in the final round is what made it a draw. Plenty of fights for him yet.

DeGale lost teeth to Yildirim who got smashed by Eubank

DeGale is a tough skilled fighter who fouled his way to olympic gold under AIBA guidance

Props to DeGale for not looking juiced and taking on all the swollen heads
