Comments Thread For: Groves Did Not Watch Eubank Win, Felt Yildirim Was Too Flawed

WBA super middleweight champion George Groves admits that he didn't watch last weekend's vicious knockout victory by Chris Eubank Jr. Eubank retained his IBO world title with a three round destruction of previously undefeated Avni Yildirim in Berlin, Germany. This Saturday night in London, Groves will defend his title against undefeated Jamie Cox.

George Groves is a moron. He already said he picked the easiest option in Jamie Cox. Groves actually said he was worried Avni Yildirim might beat Chris Eubank Jr. and lose him a payday. Typical fickle muppet, changing his tune after the event.

Don't worry you'll be watching the fight as well from the canvass or in front of the ref protecting you from a severe beating!

Nonetheless, no one thought Yildirim was gonna get knocked out like that!

He's a very strong fighter and with solid power, some even thought Eubank Jr was gonna get brutally stopped!

Jr should take the tourney, he's faster than everyone by miles and his defense and footwork has improved while he has the same endless stamina but throws crazier combos at all angles!

I like that he's using his jab!

You don't have to watch Eubank Jnr beat up face first guys like Yildirim to notice his style and, more importantly his flaws.

Groves has all the fundamental skills to expose Eubank for what he is; a flat track bully.

The biggest challenge Groves will have is ensuring he is mentally / physically prepared - and i think Adam Booth will ensure he is 100% ready.

Yildrim has such awful defence that it tells us nothing of Eubanks chances against any decent fighter. Hes not a big puncher despite the result, it's just that even loading up Chris couldn't miss this guy.

True but I do like Eubank's hand speed and combinations. He might not necessarily have one punch KO power but he has workrate, speed and enough pop to eventually stop a lot of guys even at 168.
