Sylvester Stallone doesn't know how to direct movies as a hole, whenever he has done it he has ruined what he already established. With Rocky it was cheesy sequels milking down the first movies impact. First Blood II is pretty damn entertaining but lets get real here he brought down the story to a completely ridiculous caricature both in terms of the character and warfare itself. Now with this Creed business he taints the Rocky story universe by Apollo having cheated resulting in an illegitimate son wich is a pretty serious thing merely to be used as a plot device.

The man simply doesn't how to direct and write manuscripts properly and when he lucks and strikes gold he will make sure to flush it all down in the toilet.

He didn't direct First Blood II, and while he did have a credit in the screen writing, the bulk of the story was written by James Cameron.

The story for Creed wasn't Stallone's idea. Ryan Coogler came up with the idea of Apollo cheating on his wife and having an illegitimate son.

This is about money. Coogler did a great job with the first one as it resonated across demographic groups. (There were a lot of women who went to see that movie and had good things to say; Coogler and Thompson had a lot to do with that imo.)

The production team didn't want to give Coogler a % at the box office this time around, but any director who puts out a box office smash would be dumb not to get a % for the sequel.

Coogler has a few big budget projects in the pipeline so he ain't hurting, but I was curious to see how he'd build out the story. Oh well, I'll still watch. I'm expecting a turn back to the terrible content we were getting in the last few films prior to Creed though.
