Entertaining in the ring, annoying outside of it. He always clamors for fights with Mayweather and Hatton, then turns around and gets beat by somebody we've never heard of and never hear from again. Fun to watch, a joke to listen to.

Yeah Oliveira was a sitting duck at that pointOriginally posted by cobracoreThat two handed shot - if you've got fast handspeed, it could be an effective punch - only if u've got fast hands though, otherwise you'd get countered. But if you've got fast hands, it would disorientate the opponent, make you look good with the crowd, and do slightly more damage.Comment

In his defense, he loses bull**** decisions like the Burton, Ngoudjo or Morua fights. He is one of the most talented fighters out there between 135-147 pounds, no question. He gave PBF the toughest fight of his career (he even admits it). I think that E.A. could beat Hatton, Castillo, Corrales, Cotto, and Judah if given a fair decision (because, let's face it, he won't KO them).Originally posted by DiegoFuegoEntertaining in the ring, annoying outside of it. I'm a huge E.A. fan and if you ever see him fight you will understand his greatness. His fight against Trujillo was one of the best performaces a boxer ever put on. He took Alex's heart by the third round. His fight with Micky Ward was Ring Mag's fight of the year and the leather he laid on Vilches in a short notice fight (he took the fight the day before he fought) was nothing short of artistic.
I guess it just comes down to if you like his antics or not. I like them and think that they add to his skills; but, that's just me.Comment

I watched some of his fights after discussing whether Hatton could contemplate fighting him for his US debut so heres my two-penneth.
I don't really care about his antics in the ring, they are sometime mildly entertaining and he has got more than a few rough decisions in his time.
But if people are suggesting that he could beat Castillo, Cotto, Hatton or Judah then I'm gonna have to vacate the forum to p*ss myself. He's a B-level fighter with some skills but no brain.Comment

and another thing - Mayweather must be discrediting Castillo if he says that was his toughest fight. He battered Augustus everywhere before getting rid of him, so maybe thats how he meant difficult.Originally posted by OptimusWolfI watched some of his fights after discussing whether Hatton could contemplate fighting him for his US debut so heres my two-penneth.

But Castillo almost beat him (some would say did beat him)Comment

He is great, and emanuel auguts is definetly my second favorite fight, just underneath hatton. I love the guy, a great fighter a great person. But as far as beating Hatton, castillo, or carrales, i dont think he could. He defintely has a shot and i would love to see him fight for a title against one of these guys. he is getting kinda old, but it would still be awsome to see.
he is definetly one of the toughest fighters out there. The guy can take shots that would KO guys like mayweather, and not flinch. A
nd what makes him even more spectacular, is that he takes ALL his fights on like 2 weeks notice or less. thats really incredible. and apparently, he is always in good shape, walking around at 145 and ready to fight at any time.
I absolutely love agustus, and i live to watch this guy fight. The most unkown great fighter of this era.Comment

I think augustus was supposed to be hattons first US fight, but hatton picked the "tougher" fight in collazo because collazo is a southpaw. The only problem is, augustus would have no breathing room in that fight to do his showoff stuff. id still say augustus could and would give any fighter a run for his money. ANY fighter at 135-147. He prolly wouldnt win against the elite, but he wouldnt get KOed either.Originally posted by OptimusWolfI watched some of his fights after discussing whether Hatton could contemplate fighting him for his US debut so heres my two-penneth.
