Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz Could Remain as Joshua's WBA Mandatory, Says Hearn

ANTHONY JOSHUA could have to face Luis Ortiz early next year despite the Cuban boxer testing positive for banned substances last month. IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight champion Joshua defends his titles against Bulgarian challenger Kubrat Pulev on October 28 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. But Ortiz could retain the mandatory challenger position for the British star's WBA title despite a failed drugs test.

Povetkin failed 2 VADA drug tests in 2016. Fast forward to 2017 and he's rated #5 in the WBA's rankings.

These sanctioning crooks don't give a flying **** about doping as long as the fees keep rolling in.

I hope so. I still wana see Ortiz against a titlist. All those Wilder fans who were like “Give Wilder props! He’s fighting the boogeyman of the division” now they’ll say AJ has fought 2 old men.. They’ll never give him credit.

As someone who passionately roots for both and can't wait to see them clash, I have to say that your post is bogus.

Most Wilder fans acknowledge AJ as a solid foe and champ. It's the AJ supporters (brits) and closet US racists (calling him a "thug" and various puesdo-animal names). Who say completely silly things about Wilder. He's the most unfairly ridiculed fighter in all of boxing imo. (And this is coming from someone who thinks his fundamentals are lacking. But he has some amazing athletic ability and all-time power.)

There are like three posters who troll AJ supporters and Wilder critiques, but I could literally name all three or four of them in this post lol

Every body else just wants to see good fights. Wilder trying to fight Ortiz was a good look for boxing. But it seems like everybody is steering clear of him for some reason. Parker, AJ, and now Ortiz have all either said or done things that signal he's not on the immediate wish list.

That's my objective view of this mess. Wilder can't be blamed for the last few months of randomness. Hopefully 2018 ends with an undisputed unified champion.

AJ & Ortiz are both juicing so this makes perfect sense

I called this sh^t when he got popped and I imagine most thought it too obvious to mention lol. There is nothing streamlined with this WBC clean boxing program that transfers over to other ABC groups or even commissions from my understanding to insure a guy they catch will be punished elsewhere.

Battle of the Juicers. Ortiz is probably more loyal to the syringe than Joshua though. While Joshua is out womanizing, getting drunk and high on weed and missing cycles Ortiz is staying dedicated to his craft never missing roid cycles. This match will be a toss up.
